When I was asked if I wanted to have a stall at the Nancledra Eco-Awareness Fayre I had no idea what to expect but I did know that I wanted to support the local children in their campaign to reduce plastics. My stall showcased a range of household items to help people see how they could reduce their plastic waste with minimal effort and cost.
Now it is the turn of the natural toilet cleaner; the one cleaning product that I have put off until I had well and truly run out of excuses. The old commercial toilet cleaner finally ran out and I had promised myself that I wouldn’t buy another one. So, this was it, the final step in becoming 100 % natural on my cleaning products!
A few weeks ago I hadn’t even heard of beeswax wraps. I first came across them via Deborah Meaden and Twitter and since then everyone seems to have gone beeswax wrap mad, me included. However, this post isn’t just about me jumping on the band wagon as my desire to try them links to two topics that I am increasingly passionate about; reducing plastic waste and reducing my family’s exposure to harmful chemicals.
I have only tried two products so far which are made from natural ingredients or a mix of natural and safe synthetics but in response to my earlier post about switching to a natural deodorant I had several recommendations from readers so make sure you check those out as well.
I was really pleased when Amphora Aromatics asked me to review one of their new aromatherapy blends, primarily because I have become slightly obsessed about finding a natural air freshener that works (see earlier post on natural air fresheners). The oil burner is by far my favourite, especially using this aromatherapy blend.
Those of you who have been to my house may be surprised to hear that I am a huge fan of scented candles and reed diffusers. The surprise factor is because the most over-powering scent by far in my home is our much loved but very stinky dog, Maisy.
